Have you discovered our own volunteer-run community FOOD MARKET here
in the Bathurst Quay neighbourhood?

food market

A GOOD FOOD MARKET opened in the neighbourhood last summer and is now operating bi-weekly, offering fresh fruits and vegetables at great prices. As much as possible, the food is grown by Ontario farmers, which means it’s extra fresh and far better for the environment than produce transported from thousand of kilometres away.

Good Food Markets are scheduled every Tuesday from 5-7:30 pm.

The location is 25 Bishop Tutu Blvd (apartment building) in the 1st floor community room.

You’ll be warmly welcomed by the friendly volunteers and you’ll have the chance to meet more of your neighbours of all ages.

The Good Food Market always has FRESH fruits, vegetables and bread – often honey and other pleasant surprises as well. Throughout the summer, the open-air market featured roasted corn and one market had an outdoor pizza oven with customers making their own free pizzas. There were roasted chestnuts and hot chocolate in the fall, and now most winter markets feature a hearty, homemade soup.

The market is run in partnership with FoodShare Toronto and with support from Toronto Community Housing. FoodShare delivers the fresh produce the day of the market, and the bread and other great items are organized by some very dedicated volunteers (adults and youth) in our neighbourhood.
